PollyandDigorystaredatoherindismay。

“I'msureAslanwouldhave,ifyou'daskedhim,”saidFledge。

“Wouldn'theknowwithoutbeingasked?”saidPolly。

“I'venodoubthewould,”saidtheHorse(stillwithhismouthfull)。“ButI'veasortofideahelikestobeasked。”

“Butwhatoharewetodo?”askedDigory。

“I'msureIdon'tknow,”saidFledge。“Urythegrass。Youmightlikeitbetterthanyouthink。”

“Oh,don'tbesilly,”saidPolly,stampi。“Ofans'teatgrass,ahanyoucouldeatamuttonchop。”

“Foodness'sakedon'ttalkaboutdthings,”saidDigory。“Itoworse。”

DigorysaidthatPollyhadbettertakeherselfhetsomethihere;heselfbecausehehadpromisedthtonhismessageforAslan,and,ifonceheshowedupagaihingmighthappehisgettingback。ButPollysaidshewouldn'tleavehim,andDigorysaiditwasjollydetofher。
